Welcome

This is the Guildford Air Training Corps Squadron which is a part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

The aims of the Air Training Corps
  • To promote and encourage among young people a
practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force

  • To provide training which will be useful in the Services
    and Civilian Life

  • To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of
    leadership and good citizenship
What did you do last weekend?

As an Air Cadet you get the chance to go flying and gliding, get taught how to shoot, take part in many team sports up to a National level, go on camp at RAF and Army bases throughout the UK and overseas, learn adventure training in the field, as well as going climbing, abseiling and canoeing…the list is endless!

The Air Training Corps is also the largest operator of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. The Honorary Air Commandant of the RAF Air Cadets is HRH Duchess Of Cambridge, and she takes a keen interest in the organisation.

The weekend saw cadets and NCOs come together to put senior cadets through their paces at the end of their cadre course. Over the last few months we have seen great development from a number of individuals, well done to those who attended and a thank you to the staff and NCOs who made it happen.

And it’s Gold for ex-CWO Trollope. After attending the expeditions organised by 1034 Air Cadets last year, he’s just had his award approved! Great effort and of course thanks to the staff team at 1034.

Not long left until we’re off on our Bronze and Silver Expeditions, hope those meal plans are coming on well!
